Background

The situation

A growing manufacturer had added sites faster than its IT could keep up. Each location ran as its own island, with its own gear and quirks and no central view of anything. Plant-floor systems shared a flat network with office PCs, a real operational and security risk.

Downtime on the floor is measured in lost production, so the work had to happen without stopping the line.

What we did

The work

01

Designed one standardized, centrally managed network across all sites with the plant floor properly segmented from office and guest traffic.

02

Phased the cutover site by site, off-shift, so production never stopped for the migration.

03

Added 24/7 monitoring and a single help desk so a problem at any site is seen and owned centrally.

04

Built tested backups and a recovery plan with a real RTO/RPO for the systems the floor depends on.

05

Set up vendor-neutral procurement so hardware refreshes are specced to what the environment actually needs.

“Every plant felt like a different company before. Now it's one network, one team, and when something breaks they already know.”
